THE RESEARCH QUESTION
What if a satellite optical receiver could predict where the beam will be when its steering command takes effect?
Meysam Ghanbari plans to present PIR-Twin, a receiver-side digital twin that predicts line-of-sight motion at the future steering-command actuation time. In the nominal 1000 km numerical scenario at 2 ms actuator delay, pointing RMS decreases from 2.12 µrad with reactive tracking to 1.82 µrad with residual-enhanced prediction.
