THE RESEARCH QUESTION
Can an optical receiver separate arrival angle, pointing error, jitter and turbulence without training a neural network?
Meysam Ghanbari will present a learning-free, three-stage estimator that uses quadrant imbalance and the lens-array power profile to separate these coupled effects. The Monte Carlo study shows robust arrival-angle estimation while exposing turbulence-induced limits in pointing and jitter recovery.
