OSIRIS4CubeSat: 71 µrad mean tracking error
An in-orbit acquisition-and-tracking study reported 71 µrad mean tracking error, 140 µrad at three standard deviations, and operation down to 238 pW received optical power.

01 · SYSTEM
How it was achieved
The terminal used a compact acquisition and tracking chain designed around CubeSat constraints. In-orbit measurements connected the pointing loop, received optical power and achievable 100 Mbit/s downlink performance rather than reporting a standalone laboratory actuator number.
02 · EVIDENCE
Evidence snapshot
- 01
71 µrad reported mean tracking error.
- 02
140 µrad reported three-sigma deviation.
- 03
Tracking maintained down to 238 pW received optical power.
- 04
Terminal architecture supports up to 100 Mbit/s LEO-to-ground communication.
03 · SIGNIFICANCE
Why it matters
The benchmark makes pointing accuracy meaningful by tying it to a real compact terminal, received-power floor and in-orbit pass.
